Oshawa Vision System Implementation supports Quality Focus!

Earlier this year, AGS Oshawa embarked on a quality transformation, a key element of which was the implementation of Quality Inspection Systems. There was an opportunity to significantly improve quality in the assembly area and so the project to implement automated inspection systems was launched in Oshawa. Vision Systems have been operating effectively in the Scarborough facility for the last two years. There was a proven track record and the team felt that improvements were inevitable. This is part of an overall direction to 'error-proof' part production, assembly and shipping in the Oshawa location.

The impact to the Oshawa Plant is undeniable, as the system frees up inspectors to focus on the harder problems of surface quality inspection and judgement. As well, it eliminates tedious and repetitive visual inspection. Most importantly, it provides a significant step in the goal to error-proofing our production, assembly and shipping processes to create a 100% defect- free environment.
