AGS Automotive Systems recognized by Macomb County, Michigan for cultivating an environment of diversity and inclusion.
AGS is proud to have received the “Model of OneMacomb” award, during the sixth annual Macomb Business Awards event held on February 27, 2018. The award is presented to companies demonstrating achievement in cultivating an environment of diversity and inclusion.
In its three operations within Macomb County, AGS has hired people from diverse cultural backgrounds, representative of the region where its operations are located. Over the years, AGS has worked closely with Michigan Staffing and the Macomb Community College to help overcome the challenges that come with non-traditional hiring outreach, language barriers and new training initiatives. This partnership helps to address the needs of new employees of diverse backgrounds, while at the same time tackling AGS workforce needs in Sterling Heights. AGS is proud to have built one team with a diverse employee base while providing and enabling equal opportunities for success to its people.
In accepting the award, Jennifer Rizk, Human Resources Manager said, “this is our third time being nominated, so to finally win is very exciting. I’m very proud of our workforce”. Joe Loparco, President of AGS Automotive Systems conveyed his appreciation to the AGS team by stating, “Our entire Sterling Heights team continues to amaze us each day with their efforts, teamwork and commitment.
